Allen Ray Statler Sr., 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday
February 18, 2025 at his home. He was born in Monongalia County, West
Virginia on August 29, 1943 the son of Pliney and Helen (Wade) Statler.
Allen retired in 1994 after working 28 years as a tow motor operator at
General Motors Lordstown. He enjoyed the challenge of helping others with
handyman projects. He loved to travel and go camping, but most of all, he
cherished the time spent with his two granddaughters who he adored.
Allen is survived by a son, David (Delania) Statler of Lordstown; two
granddaughters, Daci (Adam) Lannutti of Ashland, Deena Statler of Niles; two
honorary grandchildren, John and David McMahon; two brothers, Arnold
(Deb) Statler of Morgantown, West Virginia, Eudale (Gladys) Wade of
Blacksville, West Virginia and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy I. (Tennant) Statler whom he
married on December 23, 1966 and who passed away on October 28, 2021;
son, Allen Ray Statler Jr. who died on March 27, 1987 and a sister, Carole
(Denny Sr.) Mack.
The funeral will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday February 22, 2025 at the
Holeton-Yuhasz Funeral Home where family and friends may call one hour
prior to the service. Pastor Jim Weber will officiate. Burial will be in
Lordstown Cemetery.
