Allen Wilhelm Obituary
Allen V. Wilhelm, age 92, passed away at home on November 4, 2022. He was born on Grand Avenue on February 6, 1930, to Arthur and Camilla (Sass) Wilhelm. Allen graduated from DeVilbiss High School and the University of Toledo with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. He married Jacquelyn McLain and moved to their Reynolds Road home. He started and ran a State Farm Insurance Agency in his home for 20 years and then built an office on North Reynolds Road. He retired in 1992 after 36 years with State Farm. Allen was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church and was a longtime member of the Rotary Club of Reynolds Corners, serving a term as President and was a Paul Harris Fellow. He was also a member of the Toledo Ski Club and served as President for two years. In 1992, he married Helen Baumgartner and they enjoyed a very active retirement. Allen was an avid skier, gardener, golfer, camper and traveler. He drove an RV to Alaska twice. He enjoyed boating and sailing on Lake Erie. He enjoyed visiting his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four siblings; wife, Jacquelyn; daughter, Diane; and stepson, Lance.
Surviving is his wife, Helen; daughters, Linda and Karen; and stepdaughter, Lisa. Also surviving are grandchildren, Christopher (Melissa), Jack (Wendy), Nathan, McLain (Zach), Evan, Emily (Joey) and Chelsea; great-grandsons, Alex and Owen; and great-granddaughters, Kenzie and Alison.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 21, 2022, from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at the Thos. I. Wisniewski Funeral Home, 2426 North Reynolds Road, Toledo, OH 43615. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Road, Toledo, Ohio.
Memorial donations can be made to Epiphany Lutheran Church or Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

My very sincere condolences to Helen & family. Alan and first wife Jackie were leaders of our Luther League group at Epiphany church in the late 1950's. Their leadership had a very positive impact on many of our young lives.
Barbara & I moved from Toledo 25 years ago but return occasionally and worship at Epiphany. Alan and Helen were always there to warmly greet us. Alan Wilhelm is definitely among my best memories. RIP my friend!

My deepest sympathy goes out to the Wilhelm family. Allen was a kind and thoughtful man who brought a sense of calm and wisdom in the room when he entered. I missed him when he retired from State Farm and I am sure we will miss him as we celebrate his Home Going. I hope I live a good enough life to see him again thru the purely gates.
