Allen J. Winterbottom

Allen James Winterbottom, 79, of Annapolis passed away peacefully at Anne Arundel Medical Center surrounded by his family on September 5, 2025.
Allen was born on October 7, 1945 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Harold and Mary Winterbottom. He graduated from Severna Park High School in 1964 lettering in football and baseball. He was also a Golden Glove amateur boxer. He loved the Colts then the Ravens and the Baltimore Orioles. Allen learned to snow ski and golf after he was 50 years old. In his lifetime he owned a number of boats, cruising with White Rocks Yacht Club, crabbing and water skiing.
Allen worked for Nevamar after high school then began an apprenticeship at Baltimore and Ohio Railroad as a lineman. He was an electrician for 40 years for both the B&O Rail Road in Baltimore and Amtrack in Washington, DC.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, Susan (nee Shutz) Winterbottom he is survived by his children; Duane Winterbottom and wife Pam (nee Shifflett), Denise Winterbottom and Deanna Parsons (nee Winterbottom), his grandchildren; Brooke Hoffman (Josh), Casandra Taormina (Joseph) and Emily Mayr (Zack), his great-grandchildren; Kinsley, Paxton, Claire, Preston, Noah, Kendall and Cameron, his twin brother Arlen (Dawn), his nieces; Tracey, Chris (Kenny) and family, Tina (John), Amanda (Andrew) and family, Kara (Casey) and family, his nephews; Richard (Kim) and family, Matt, Dan (Sharon) and family, Sean, Vernon, and Michael.
In addition to his parents, Allen is preceded in death by his brother Harold Winterbottom, his sister Ethel Jones Pechulis, his nephew John Siefert, and niece Mary Hannigan.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Allen's life on Saturday, September 20, 2025 from 1:00 to 6:00 pm at Stallings Funeral Home 3111 Mountain Road Pasadena, MD 21122 where a memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm. Interment private.
