Alma Gonzales went to be with the Lord on August 7, 2022, at the age of 79.
Alma was born on November 24, 1942, in St. Johns, Michigan, to the late Domenga Marcia Gonzales and Santos Gonzales. She grew up in a loving family, one of seven.
She was a proud mother of five; sons, Gilbert Vigil and the late John David Vigil; and daughters, Anita Rivas, Jessica Gonzales, and Alicia Martinez. Alma enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; great conversations, making someone smile, and feeling hopeful for the future of those she knew. Alma had a deep faith that led her to lead a remarkably full life, belonging to the Oasis of Life Church, she inspired those around her to be better individuals.
Her capacity for generosity knew no bounds. She was someone who would without hesitation help anyone in need with support, encouragement, and guidance. She had the most giving heart and enjoyed helping and caring for others. A very special and social person: she would make friends with anyone who met her. Alma loved when family and friends would get together to share a few laughs and stories. Those times exist in our memories and will be cherished forever. Although her time with us must end, her love never will.
She is preceded in death by her son, John David Vigil; parents, Santos Gonzales and Domenga Marcia Gonzales; and brother, Gilbert Rico.
She is survived by her children, Anita Rivas, Gilbert Vigil, Jessica Gonzales, and Alicia Martinez; grandchildren, Aaron Martinez, Richard D. Liscano, Jeremiah M. Liscano, Madison Gonzales, Jonathan Arias, Patrick Arias, Johnathan Vigil and Josiah Vigil; siblings, Jesse Rico, Benardo Rico, Janie Rodriguez, Lupita Ramirez, and Margarita Rico; beloved Johann, Mary, and Frances in addition to numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2002, at Castillo Funeral Home from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with a prayer service to be begin at 6:00 pm. A Chapel Service will be held on Monday, August 22, 2022, in the Castillo Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 am with everyone meeting for interment to follow at San Fernando III Cemetery.
