Alma Carol Rogers Harbin, 89, of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2024, at Morning Pointe Assisted Living.
Mrs. Harbin was born May 19, 1935, the daughter of A.D. Rogers and Ossie Painter Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Harbin; three sisters, Estalene Pulliam, Lucy Dilbeck, and Willimae Brown; four brothers, Glen, Willard, Carlton, and Arvil Rogers.
She and her husband made their home in Michigan, where she retired from General Motors.. After retirement, she and her husband moved to Arizona, Alabama, and then decided to move to Calhoun, where she would be closer to her family. After her husband passed away, she later became a resident of Morning Pointe of Calhoun and lived there for the past 16 years. She enjoyed getting to know the other residents and building relationships with them and all the staff. She enjoyed putting together puzzles with other residents and doing crossword puzzles. She was also a member of New Town Baptist Church.
Survivors include a special great nephew and great niece, Phillip and Elizabeth Pulliam, and their children, Madelyn, Ava, and Matthew; sister, Margaret Duvall; brother-in-law Eugene Pulliam; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and other relative also survive.
Funeral services for Alma Carol Rogers Harbin will be conducted Friday, July 19th, at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home, with Rev(s) Brandon Bishop and Eddie Brannon officiating. Karli Rogers will arrange the music. Burial will follow in Sugar Valley Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Stacy Hensley conducting the graveside service. Pallbearers serving include Walter Jackson, Nevin Pulliam, Bruce Harkins, Stacy Hensley, Blake Hilley, and Jack Brown.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 19th, from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to New Town Baptist Church, 897 New Town Church Road NE, Calhoun, GA 30701.
