Alma Jean Knight-McGeorge, 69, of Fayetteville, North Carolina passed away on June 27, 2025 at her home.
Alma was born on May 23, 1956 in Newark, Essex to the late Albert Knight and Ardelia Reynolds.
To cherish her memory, she is survived by her two sons, Robert McGeorge (Felicia) and Albert McGeorge (Nelisha); brothers Alan Knight and Jabar Knight; nine beautiful grandbabies; and a host of extended family members and friends.
Alma was a devoted mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her loved ones. She was affectionately known by her grandchildren as “Gma.” In her free time, she loved participating in bowling matches, visiting the aquarium, enjoying a night out to dinner, doing a crossword puzzle, and watching television and movies. Some of her favorites were Jeopardy, Young and Restless, and the QVC Shopping Network. She also found great joy in serving her community. Alma served in the United States Military as a SGT in Communications from 1980-1992. She referred to her career as a “Top Secret Position.” Following her dedicated military service, she began work in child care services before moving to Traffic Control Operations with the Fayetteville Police Department.
Alma was loved by all that knew her and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held July 5th, 2025 at 1:00 PM Saturday at LaFayette Funeral Home.
