Alma Lee Jones was born on December 20, 1943. A native of Spartanburg, SC, she was the daughter of the late Ted Jones, Sr., and Julia B. Johnson Jones.
Alma attended Inman High School. She married Clyde Lynch, Jr. She was a member of New Testament Christian Church, where Pastor D. K. Hughes shepherds, and to whom she thought the world of. She loved the Lord, and she knew the Lord loved her. She was a sweet lady, a giver and she was good to herself also. She never stopped dreaming and achieving her personal goals.
In addition to her parents, Alma is preceded in death by a son, Vencient Lynch; a grand-daughter, Venecia Deyonnia Lynch; four brothers, Charles Franklin Jones, Ted Jones, Jr., David Jones, Randy Jones; four sisters, Betty Tracy, Louvenia Kelly, Barbara Jones, and Janice Jones.
For the last five years, she has been in Peachtree Nursing Home in Gaffney, SC. Her goal was to come home and when God blessed her to walk again, she came home to Spartanburg, SC, on September 30, 2025. She passed away of natural causes and peacefully transitioned on October 29, 2025, at home.
Ms. Alma was the mother of five children; Linda Rookard, Anthony Lynch, Lothairo (Lakeya) Lynch, Vencient Lynch (predeceased) and Cartez Lynch. She also leaves to cherish fond memories to her seventeen grandchildren, four great- grandchildren; brother, Ed Jones; sisters, Julia Banks, Mary Seawright, Elizabeth Holt, and Deborah Jones; daughter-in-law, Carrie Lynch; brother-in-law, Ernest Lynch; sisters-in-law, Lillie Knuckles, and Penni Lynch; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends all of whom will miss her dearly.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Community Mortuary, Inc., 102 Marion Avenue, Spartanburg, SC.
