Alma Pearson Martin Crawley, age 101, of Marion, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning, January 26, 2026 at Mountain Ridge Health & Rehabilitation.
Alma was born in Drexel NC, but lived most of her life in Marion. She was a member of West Court Baptist Church for over 78 years. She worked in hosiery mills until she was well into her seventies. Alma was always there for her family looking after her parents, her siblings, her nieces and nephews, and anyone she knew that needed help. Her love for others was evident in everything she did. She was the epitome of the Godly woman in Proverbs 31:10-31- loving, strong, kind, caring, compassionate, honorable, and she served the Lord in all things. She was a blessing to everyone who knew her. She is missed, but her legacy will live on in the lives of those who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Glen Pearson and Martha Franklin Pearson; first husband, Paul Jackson Martin; her second husband, Guy Julius Crawley; two step-daughters, Clara Ledford and Judy Stroupe; and her brothers and sisters, John Pearson, Jr., James Pearson, William "Jack" Pearson, Mae Moses, Gladys Pearson, and Velvie Smith.
She is survived by four children, Danny Martin, John Martin (Rhonda), Janice Ricker (Carroll), and Billy Martin (Jan); thirteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Rachel Greer.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at West Court Baptist Church. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Jeff Burchette officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are encouraged to be made to West Court Baptist Church, 355 West Court Street, Marion, NC 28752.
2170 Rutherford Rd, Marion, NC 28752
