Alma Jean McDonald, 82, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025 at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Alma was born in 1943 in Bay, Arkansas, to Cleo and Pauline Biggers. She was always a hard worker. From a young age, she worked in the fields picking cotton, and she was consistently named the “Most Studious” and “Most Likely to Succeed” in her Nettleton High School class of 1961. From school extracurriculars, including the school play and Beta Club, to her long career with the Hurt family in various businesses and capacities, Alma gave everything her full effort. After retirement, she helped continue the operations of TSI Amusements, the company co-founded by her husband. But her greatest joy was caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, whom she lavished with love and generosity throughout her life. She was an avid Razorback fan, and she loved college football and basketball. No Lifetime movies for Alma, just sports.
Alma had a longtime faith in Jesus Christ that she shared with her family. She kept her Bible close, always near the chair where she rested at home.
Alma is survived by her two children, Jeff McDonald (Brigitte) of Corning, Arkansas, and Tony McDonald (Karen) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Mallary Baker, Tony Hal McDonald Jr. (Rachel), Jake McDonald, and Luke McDonald (Ali); and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cleo and Pauline Biggers, and her husband, Bobby Allen McDonald.
There will be a visitation for Alma on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Memorial Chapel. A funeral service celebrating her life will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
