The way I remember Jay most is of him standing in the philosophy lounge at WSU, eyes lit up as he told the stories of historical events in Europe. You could see him mapping all the details as he spoke, connecting all the people and events and their import for Continental Philosophy. He was a great story-teller and a really nice guy.

Condolences to the Mandt family and WSU colleagues. Jay´s support of Honors at WSU was impressive. He will be missed.
