"Shorty"
Age 93, late of Lockport, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 11, 2024. Born in Romeo, IL, lived in Lockport, and a resident of Romeoville, until moving to Manteno in 2022. A United States Korean War Army Veteran. Member of the Lockport Moose Lodge #1557, Lockport VFW Post # 5788, and Pure Rod and Gun Club, Plainfield. He was an avid gardener, a Chicago Cubs fan, he enjoyed playing euchre, duck hunting, but above all else he cherished spending time with his family.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Patricia A. (Nee Spencer) Nikiel; his parents, Rudolph and Mary (Nee Gura) Nikiel; and many other cherished family members who passed on before him.
Survived by three devoted daughters, Michelle (late Ed) Croft, Jeanette (Robert) Piper, and Sheri Rogers; grandchildren, Stephanie (Aaron) Clift, Morgan (Andy) Scott, Brianna (Jimi) Frawley, Kyle (Nathan) Rogers, and Taylor Rogers; five great grandchildren, Makenzie Clift, AJ Clift, Lincoln Scott, Dylan Frawley, and Madeline Frawley; and one sister, Ann Nikiel.
Alois's family would like to thank Senior Star, Manteno Veterans Home, and Uplifted Care Hospice for their exceptional care.
Cremation Rites have been respectfully addressed.
Inurnment, Religious Service and Full Military Honors will take place on Monday, July 1, 2024, at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery 20952 W. Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL 60421, at 10:30am.
Arrangements under the care and direction of O'Neil Funeral Home, Lockport, IL 60441.
