Alonzo “Lon” James Falls, 76, of Havelock, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Carolina East Medical Center.

The family of Lon will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Munden Funeral Home in Havelock, NC.

Lon was born on February 2, 1949, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to the late Floyd and Mary Wolfe. He honorably served his country as a Marine and was a Vietnam Veteran. His dedication to his fellow veterans continued throughout his life as a Lifetime Member of VFW Post 15034, where he found camaraderie, purpose, and dignity in service.

Following his military years, Lon worked in the coal mines and later spent over 25 years as a custodian with the Craven County School System. Known for his strong work ethic, humble spirit, and unwavering dependability, he made a lasting impact on everyone he met. Lon was a dedicated family man who adored his children, grandchildren, and great grandson. May his memory be ever present in all the hearts he touched.

Those left to treasure his memory are his son, Alonzo “Lonnie” Falls (Wendy) of Havelock, North Carolina; daughter, Amy Carpeal (Ron) of Donora, Pennsylvania; sister, Mary Fowler (Charlie) of Lake Lynn, Pennsylvania; brother, Paul Falls (Susan) of Havelock, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Amelia, Lucas, Benjamin, Zachary, Emily; great grandson, Nolan; and his favorite dog, Chewie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Falls and father, William Falls.
