My sincere condolences to AL'S wife Karen and your children. I remember meeting you both through a fellow soldier back in 1993 in Ft Drum NY. AL was always a great asset to the military community. He was always positive and displayed the upmost respect towards anyone he met. I haven't spoken to him in a while and was so sad to learn of his demise. Rest easy AL. Karen, I am keeping you in and your children in prayer that God will see you through peace, love and his amazing grace.

I began my military career at the age of 18 at Fort Polk, LA, which was my first duty station. It was there that I met Karen, affectionately known as K, and through her, I connected with Nelson. Our gatherings were always filled with joy and camaraderie. Nelson´s dedication as a soldier and his role as a mentor profoundly impacted many young service members, including myself. As we celebrate his remarkable legacy, let us honor the values he instilled in us all. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with his family during this challenging time.

My deepest condolences to his wife, children, and family. Al was an awesome friend, he was a great sounding board and often brought me down from the ledge. We met in 2003 in Korea. My heart aches for his children. May God grant you all peace and comfort.
