Alta M. Hollinger, 92, of Ephrata, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Fairmount Homes.
She was born in New Holland to the late Henry M. and Martha (Martin) Weaver and was the wife of Donald S. Hollinger, with whom she shared 69 years of marriage.
She was a member of Hinkletown Mennonite Church, Ephrata, where she was a nursery Sunday school teacher for 34 years. Alta worked in food service for Manheim Auto Auction. In her free time, she loved spending time with her family, flowers, coloring, and puzzles. She enjoyed volunteering at the re-uzit shop and feeding the birds.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five children, Robert, husband of Marilyn Hollinger of Lancaster, Shirley, wife of David Plank, Jr. of Appomattox, VA, Randall L., husband of Glenda Hollinger of Manheim, Kathy, wife of Ronald Martin of Pamplin, VA, Cynthia Kaye Stauffer of New Holland; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Minerva Nolt, wife of the late Elmer Nolt and a sister-in-law, Becky Weaver.
She was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Sage, Myka; eight siblings, Frank, husband of the late Edna Weaver, Esther, wife of the late Samuel Hostetter, Ivan, husband of the late Lavina Weaver, Clarence, husband of the late Lydia Weaver, Anna Mary, wife of the late Ivan Sensenig, Edna, wife of the late Luke Weaver, Eva, wife of the late Martin Nolt and Irvin Weaver.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff at Fairmount Homes and Hospice and Community Care for their excellent care of Alta over the last year and a half.
A visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024, from 2 to 3 PM, at Hinkletown Mennonite Church, 2031 28th Division Highway, Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 3 PM, with Pastor Glenn Sauder officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in Alta's memory may be made to Hospice and Community Care P. O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
