Alta M. Jochens (nee Murdick), 74, left this world with her family by her side on Thursday, October 17, 2024.
She was the beloved wife of the late David Jochens, with whom she shared many beautiful years. Alta was a dedicated and respected member of her community. She was actively involved with VFW Post #5331, serving as past treasurer, and was equally proud of her work with the Cedar Hill Elks Lodge, where she also held the role of treasurer. Her commitment to service was a reflection of her generous heart and caring spirit.
Alta's zest for life shone brightest during the holidays. She was known for dressing up for Halloween, bringing laughter and joy wherever she went, and creating unforgettable memories at parties with friends. She had a natural talent for writing skits, and her performances at family birthdays, weddings and gatherings were legendary. Christmas was her favorite time of year, and her passion for the holiday grew into an impressive Christmas village display that took over her family room, transforming it into a magical winter wonderland.
Beyond her love for holidays, Alta found happiness in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid golfer, enjoyed quilting beautiful pieces by hand, and could often be found immersed in a heartwarming Hallmark movie. She treasured time spent with her dear friends, always ready for a great party and a good laugh.
Alta will be remembered for her boundless love, her creativeness, and her laughter. She lived a life filled with love, generosity, and endless joy. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
