Alta Anne (Brown) Wisenburg, 82, of Neponset, passed away Friday, December 5, 2025, in the comfort of her home. Alta was born August 14, 1943, in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Robert C. and Alta E. (Wood) Brown. She graduated from Rock Island High School, with the class of 1961. Alta married Larry W. Wisenburg on April 2, 1966, at St. John's Lutheran Church, in Rock Island, Illinois.

Alta is survived by her son, Steven (Carol) Wisenburg; brothers, Donald R. Brown, and Stanley L. (Sally Jo) Brown; her son-in-law, Rusly Gunawan; her grandchildren, Christopher (Cassie) Gunawan, Alta Lauren (Niki) Gunawan, Eva (Matthew) Folkenroth, and William T. Wisenburg; and her great-grandchildren Christopher and Zoey Gunawan. Alta is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Larry; her parents; and a daughter Alta Michelle Gunawan.

Alta was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for over 50 years, having been a part of the Orion, Moline, and Geneseo chapters. She worked for several insurance agencies over the years in both Rock Island, Illinois, and Sheffield, Illinois for over 40 years. Alta had worked for the Henry County Health Department for 10 years before her retirement. In her downtime she loved to read, sew, cook, and knit.

Order of the Eastern Star Service will be at 4:00 pm, Friday, December 12, 2025, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 4:30 - 6:30 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025, at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held the following day on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Pastor Darin Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Greenview Cemetery in East Moline, Illinois. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace Organization.
