Alton Roy Austin, 92, a resident of Morgan City, passed away peacefully, March 21, 2026.
Alton was born January 6, 1934, in Bernice, Louisiana, the son of Jim Austin and Hattie Ray Austin.
Alton was a proud veteran of the Navy. Alton married the love of his life, Beverly Lee, May 13, 1955.
He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his two sons, Curtis Austin (Lori), of The Woodlands, TX, and Jerry Austin of Morgan City; daughter-in-law, Cherie Austin of Dahlonega, GA; grandchildren, Matthew Austin, John Austin, and Ashley Keller; great Grandchildren, Michael and Micah Austin and Zoe and Jeremiah Keller.
Alton was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Lee Austin; son, Roy Lee Austin; parents, Jim and Hattie Austin; siblings, Palmer Austin, Inez Simpson, Ray Austin, Margarette Smith, Roland Austin and R.D. Austin.
Visitation will be held, Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at First Babtist Church in Morgan City from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Morgan City, with Pastor Tracy Smith Officiating. Military honors will be rendered after services by the Patterson Memorial VFW, Post 12182. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery in Bernice, LA.
