Alton Lanier Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Community Funeral Home of Beulaville on Jan. 19, 2026.
lton "Mr. Al" Dactor Lanier 93 died Sunday, January 18th, 2026 at his family home in Maple Hill, NC. Alton married the love of his life in 1957 whom he met while serving in the Air Force; during the Korean War. He is proceeded in death by his wife Patricia, sister Elanor Wooten (Leamon) and brother Carlton Lanier (Peggy).

Al loved God, Family which extended beyond blood and his country! He was always willing to share his thoughts and beliefs with no remorse. He was a member of Gideon's International. As a Gideon, he distributed more than 500k New Testament Bibles personally throughout the world. He took great pride in giving everyone he met a New Testament and sharing John 3:16. Rarely, was there something broken that he could not fix or tell you how to fix it; except his "broken heart" after the loss of his wife, "Miss Pat" in 2024. He lived life to the fullest! Other than handing out new testaments, his favorite pastime was sitting at the table, sharing stories and giving advice with family and friends.

"Oh, don't forget to feed the birds!

He is survived by his children; Chip, April, Janna and Billie Jo. Grandchildren Kirk ( Tiffany ) Aj, Alex (Courtney) Lydia Rae. Great grandchildren Skyleigh, Rowan and Levi.
