I first met Alton and Cheryl when I flew to Utah for the wedding of my son Jason Krause to their youngest daughter Ashley in 1995. It was a beginning of almost 30 years of knowing this remarkable man. He was one of the most loving, giving, serving people I have ever met. He gave me a wonderful hairdo for the wedding, and a couple of years ago he gave me a rollator to help me walk after my knee surgery. He invited my grandchildren Alex and Zach Krause to see the toy factory and taught them how to add wheels to the toy cars. My whole family will miss Alton Thacker. May he rest in peace until we meet again.

What I learned from Alton was to try to spread joy where ever you go. He made so many kids happy all over the world with his little cars; not to mention many a frazzled mother. He made me happy giving me the opportunity to work in the Tiny Tim factory for years. I will miss my old friend. We will push on making toys in his memory. My condolences to his wonderful family. What a great legacy Alton leaves behind. Tiny Tim´s is known for the cute wooden cars, but you do so much more to help less fortunate people in the world.

Several years ago, with my sweet 1 year old in tow, I had the opportunity to meet Alton in a waiting room at Salt Lake County Jail. It isn't a place that elicits much joy but there he sat with a smile on his face. He saw me struggling to keep my little one occupied after everything we had was locked away for a visit to an inmate. He kindly spoke to me and my son and handed him one of his cars. My son was elated to have something to play with and the guards allowed the toy to remain with us through the remainder of our visit. I have thought of Alton and tiny car often over the years and have had the deepest gratitude for his kindness and generosity and all these years later, we still have that tiny car. Praying that your family is wrapped in love as you celebrate his life.
