Alva Jane Freeman

Alva Jane Freeman, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Maysville, NC. Jane was known for her generous spirit, unwavering kindness, and dedication to her family and community. A devoted church member of Triune Holiness Church for nearly 40 years, she found deep strength in her faith, which illuminated every aspect of her life. She touched the lives of many with her warmth and compassion, always offering a helping hand and a listening ear to those in need. Even towards the end of her journey she continued to smile and share her love for God with all that visited her. She kept the faith that she would be healed and now she is. Jane accomplished much in her life and provided a great life for her family. She was the owner of Country Porch Florist and Magic Mirror Hair Salon, both in Maysville.

Jane is survived by her daughters Wendy Speight (Mike) and Bonnie Trott (Luther); grandchildren Tony Speight (Ann), Crystal Halstead (Mike), Brandon Trott (Tessa) and Cody Trott (Jackie); great grandchildren Brandon Speight, Michaela Speight (Scott), Colin Halstead, Aaron Trott, Jonathan Trott, Anna Trott, Jessica Trott, Arthur Trott, and Joy Trott; great-great grandchildren Graham Hinton and Bennie White. She is preceded in death by her parents William Henry and Dolly Phillips Riggs; spouses Marvin Allen and John Freeman; siblings Missouri Irene "Sissy" Riggs, Henry "Buddy" Riggs, Beulah Brown, Theodore "Doe" Riggs, Dolly Godley, Page Riggs, Laura Belle Swinson. Her legacy of love, strength, faith, and selflessness will continue to inspire all who knew her.

A service celebrating Jane's life and cherished memories will take place at Triune Holiness Church in Maysville, NC, on Monday, February 9 at 2:00 PM. Pastor Jerry Smith and Brandon Trott will officiate. Visitation is scheduled to start at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow the service in Dogwood Memorial Cemetery.
