Mr. Alvin McKinzo Ellis was the fourth child born on November 9,
1954, to Harvey Ellis Sr. and Gloria Stean Vaughan-Ellis, both
preceded him in death, as did three of his brothers, Harvey Jr.,
Edward Charles and Raymond Ellis.
Alvin was baptized at an early age at Mt. Joy MB Church in Morgan
Park by Reverend Ivory Scott, where he served on a youth usher
board. In 1987, Alvin reunited with St Paul MB Church under the
leadership of Pastor Nathaniel and Marvin Booker, which is now
under the leadership of Pastor Jason J. Carter Sr., Alvin was a He was a
dedicated member and served until his death.
After High School, Alvin was employed at Firestone Auto and
Tire Center. In 1977, Alvin went to work for General Tire, where
He retired at an early age due to his eyesight.
Order of Service
Alvin married Jeoline Allen on January 19, 1976, and to this
union, one child was born, Latasha Ellis.
Alvin was a member of the Distant Riders Motorcycle Club,
where he received the nickname “Re-Run”
. He was a loyal
member, traveling all over the country. Alvin also enjoyed
building and racing cars at the US 30 Racetrack and several tracks
in Mississippi.
Alvin made Mississippi his home in 1987, where he lived in his
forever home, built from the ground up, where he raised his
children.
On September 20, 2025, at 10:38 pm, Alvin McKinzo Ellis
departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife
Jeoline Ellis, seven children; Tommy, Latasha, Lakysha,
LaShanda (Christopher), Lil Alvin, Brittany, and Shequille. Two
sisters, Carolyn and Jacqueline, one brother, Craig, 18
grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, An Aunt (2nd Mom)
Beatrice Ellis, six uncles, Minus (Martha) Vaughan Sr., Joseph
Vaughan, Prentiss (Dorothy) Vaughan, Herbert Vaughan, and
Jimmie (Christine) Vaughan. A bonus brother, Alan (Wolfman)
Williams and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, family, and
friends.
