Alvin R. Engelhardt age 89, of North Canton, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 19, 2011. He was born on July 29, 1922 to the late Arvine and Harriet Engelhardt in Massillon, Ohio. Alvin proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII as a First Lieutenant. He worked as an Electronic Technician for Timken Company for 17 years, retiring in 1984. Alvin was a member of First Christian Church and the Military Officers Association for many years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Welch) Engelhardt; daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Charles Essinger; and sister, Gloria Blyer. He is survived by his two sons, Stanley (Jackie) Sereychas of Canton and William (Lillian) Sereychas of Canton; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and special friends Dave and Loretta Gang. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Crossroads Hospice for their exceptional care and support. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, August 23 from 6-8pm at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel. A service will be held on Wednesday, August 24 at 11:00am at the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel with burial to follow at Sunset Hills Memory Garden.
