Alvin Paige

Alvin "Nick" Paige, Jr. was born on December 25, 1944 to the late Alvin Paige, Sr. and the late Lillian Jones Gant in Hoboken, GA. He was the sixth child born of 14 children. He was fondly called Nick to those who knew him. He departed this life on Wednesday, October 1, 2024 at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, Georgia surrounded by loved ones.
At an early age, Alvin met Carolyn Thomas and they fell in love. Alvin and Carolyn(whom he affectionately called Charlene) married and were blessed with 6 children.
During Alvin's lifespan, he held various jobs. He worked in the timber industry for many years. He also held positions such as a Longshoreman, a security guard, and a beekeeper. Some of his favorite things to do were playing spades, fishing, and reminiscing about past times. He was a Freemason.
Alvin was preceded in death by both parents: Alvin, Sr. and Lillian; two children: Jacqueline and Alvin; three brothers: Raymond, Louis, and Joshua and two sisters: Veolia and Emma.
Those left to cherish his memories include his devoted wife of 60 years, Carolyn Thomas Paige, his children Marvin Paige(Mary Frances) of Homerville, GA., Anthony Paige of Menifee, CA, Linda Paige (Willie Manders), and Margo Paige of Homerville, GA.; one brother, Leroy Gant of Homerville, GA; 7 sisters, Beatrice of Sylvester, GA., Flossie of Brunswick, GA., Mary of New York, Bessie, Betty, Ollie, and Elouise of Orlando, FL; in-laws: Lavanda Thomas, Karen Thomas, Ricky(Flo)Thomas, Martha Williams, Diane Calhoun, and Sandra Thomas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
A graveside service has been scheduled for Saturday, October 12, 2024 at 11:00 am at Pine Forest Cemetery in Homerville, Ga. A public viewing will be held prior to the service at 10:00 am until the start of the service.
