Alvin I. Schub

Alvin's career path led him to Israel with his young family to set up a technical publications firm for Israel Aircraft. He taught Israelis to write material for a new secret airplane in 1969 and 1970. After returning to the United States he worked for Fisher Radio and later Sound Design Corporation. He then worked for the Ghurka Collection in Norwalk until he was 81 years of age.
Al was unfortunately an avid Mets fan and was lucky to see them win 2 world series, but oh, those other seasons he watched them faithfully only to see bitter disappointment.
Alvin was a gifted photographer and had many shows in Rowayton and in Westport. He also set an example of volunteerism for his children by serving as President of Temple Bethel in Norwalk and President of Beth Israel in Norwalk, He was a founding member of Beit Chaverim Synagogue in Westport where he was a proud member. His greatest gift was showing his undying love for his family who came first with him.
Alvin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Irene Kamins Schub, his children Stacey Gola and Andrew Schub, his grandchildren Hayley Gola and Matthew Gola, his sister Sandra Ferguson nieces Anna Ferguson, Greer Ferguson and great niece Beatrix Sparks. We will all miss him.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at Sholom Funeral Chapel (same building as Thomas M Gallagher Funeral Home) 104 Myrtle Ave Stamford, CT (203)-324-4494. Interment will follow at Agudas Achim Cemetery 250 Reid St Fairfield, CT.
