Alvin L. Williams, Sr., 76, of
Lake Helen, Florida, passed away on December 12, 2025.
Alvin was born on November 14, 1949, in
Lake Helen, Florida. A lifelong Floridian, he was deeply rooted in his community and devoted to his family, whom he considered his greatest achievement.
He was the beloved husband of Vivian M. Williams, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage and a life filled with love, partnership, and unwavering support. Together, they built a strong family foundation centered on faith, hard work, and togetherness.
Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Eunice Williams, his sister, Eunice B. Williams, his daughter, Fredricka Williams, his grandson, Antwan Williams, and his son, Adrian Dykes.
He is survived by his loving siblings, Loretta Williams-Dukes (Gene), Curtis Williams, and Ralph Williams.
Alvin was a proud and loving father to Shawn Williams of
DeLand, Florida; Ava Williams of Orange City, Florida; Alvin Williams (Tracy) of Hoosick Falls, New York; Eunice Miller (Matt) of Deltona, Florida; Jamall Williams (Melanie) of Tallahassee, Florida; Jamira Williams of Deltona, Florida; Janine Bouie (Carlton) of Yulee, Florida.
He was a devoted grandfather to 18 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, each of whom brought him immense joy and pride. He cherished time spent with his family and was especially proud to be part of one of only two families in the city blessed with triplets.
Alvin attended Seminole Junior College after obtaining a full scholarship for his Athletic abilities. His passion for all sports remained with him throughout his life. He was grateful for the guidance and influence of his mentor, Thomas Bush, whose support and wisdom left a lasting impact on his life. He also cherished a lifelong friendship with Frank Hough, whose bond meant a great deal to him
He retired from Lowe's Home Improvement Center, where he was known as a dependable and hardworking employee. Beyond his professional life, he was a pillar in the community through his many years of service as a Little League & Basketball coach. Coaching was not just a role for Alvin-it was a calling. He poured his heart into mentoring young athletes, teaching them discipline, teamwork, and perseverance both on and off the field.
His dedication to youth sports earned him multiple Coach of the Year awards, and he was honored with an induction into the DeLand Hall of Fame (Southwestern Sr/Jr High), a recognition that reflected the lasting impact he made on countless lives.
Alvin was passionate about family, sports, and his children, and he never missed an opportunity to support them in all their endeavors. Known for his steady presence, warm smile, and encouraging words, he will be remembered as a man who gave selflessly to others and led by example.
