Alvina Rose Titzer, 95, of Evansville, passed away Thursday, November 6, 2025 at North River Health Campus. She was born October 26, 1930 in Evansville to the late Yolanda (Tieken) and Alois Goedde.
Alvina was a longtime member of St. John Catholic Church in Daylight where she was a greeter and Eucharistic minister. She was also a member of St. Ann Alter Society, Catholic Daughters of America and St. John Angel Quilters. Alvina and her late husband, Herman, received the Simon Brute Award from the Diocese of Evansville in 1993. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. Alvina cherished time spent with her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was blessed to be married to the love of her life for 51 years before Herman's passing in 2004.
She is survived by her sons, Allen Titzer, Dennis (Cindy) Titzer, Randal (Julie) Titzer, Herman Titzer, Jr. (Lynn) and Steven (Paula) Titzer; daughters, Karen Titzer (Mike) and Diane (Stan) Droste; grandchildren, Christopher, Jamie, Cordon, Kelsey, Emily, Jacob, Aaron, Annie, Elaine, Jamie L. and Michael; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent Goedde, Edwin (Darlene) Goedde, Jerome (Jane) Goedde and Daniel (Gayle) Goedde; sisters, Etheline (Robert) Petrig and Antoinette Kissel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Titzer, Sr.; infant daughter, Karen Mary Titzer; grandson, Ronnie Hayden; sisters, Emerita Ford, Marcella Paul, Henrietta Kissel, Esther Petrig and Mary Martin; and brothers, Aloysious Goedde, Jr. and Melvin Goedde.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, November 10, 2025 at Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at St. John Catholic Church-Daylight, 5301 Daylight Dr., Evansville. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the church with Father Chris Forler officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
To honor Alvina, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to St. John Catholic Church, 5301 Daylight Dr., Evansville, IN 47725.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to the nursing staff at North River Health Campus and Heart to Heart Hospice for their kind and compassionate care of Alvina.
