Hello Patti - This is Tammy Regnier. I am so sorry to hear ofnyour mom's passing. To be honest, God placed you on my heart today and I began to try to find you on social media. I tried all of your names, and ran across Joan's obituary. I would love to know how you, Pamela, James, and Eddie are doing. I pray you are all well. Please feel free to reach out ifnyou wish. I apologize for not making it to the funeral. Unfortunately, I would be coming back to Arkansas at night, and the weather forecast for Sunday night calls for severe thunderstorms along my route home with high winds, a good chance of hail and possibly tornadoes, and my night vision isn't what it used to be and I reluctantly decide to cancel the trip.
I was a kid when I met Aunt Joan. I confess to being a goofy and weird kid and although she acted like she wanted to box my ears, Aunt Joan rolled with it instead, for which I was always grateful. Instead she always offered me friendly, but wise advice that I always found valuable.
After she married Uncle Jim, my grandparents took my cousins and I to meet them in Albuquerque. Among my fixations, I had an intense desire to climb Mount Sandia, which towers over Albuquerque. She didn't laugh. Instead, she and Jim took on a long winding road to the top of the mountain. We left during a sunny day but the top of the mountain was cold and foggy. I learned I had a severe fear of heights and I could barely look down the mountain, let alone climb it. She didn't laugh, nor did she say 'I told you so.' She was a great aunt and a wonderful human being.
