Our beautiful and loving daughter passed away unexpectedly on October 17, 2024. Alyssa was born on October 24, 1993 in Modesto, California. Alyssa is survived by her Husband Jose Velasquez, four Children, Scarlet, Royce, Theodore, and Izel, Mother Renee Scott-Eastburn (Chris Eastburn), Father Alex Ortega (Jennifer Ortega), Father-In Law Jose Velasquez, Sr., Mother-In Law Carolina Flores, Sister Maegan Ortega, Step brother Sage Eastburn, Step sister Malorie Dees, Step brother Mac Marshall, Brothers-In Law Alex, David, Ivan, Anthony, Issac, and Moses, Grandmothers, Shirley Scott, Gracie Ortega, Pam Eastburn, and Estela Flores-Cavazos, along with many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. She is preceded in death by her Grandfathers Francis Scott, Raul Ortega and Joe Eastburn. Alyssa graduated from Stansbury High School in Stansbury Park, Utah in 2011. She spent many years in the Tooele Valley, before moving to Fort Riley, Kansas recently to begin a new chapter in her life with Jose Velasquez. Alyssa had such a wonderful and big heart, and was a very loving mother. Alyssa was athletic and loved playing soccer. She had a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. She loved reading, particularly her Harry Potter Books, and she also loved watching her favorite shows on Netflix. One of Alyssa’s greatest strengths was her ability to put others well being before her own and to make sure everyone was happy and that her children were provided for. No matter how busy Alyssa was, she loved calling family and friends, even just for small talk to show that she loved everyone. Alyssa would always tell Jose who she chatted with and it always made her happy.
