Amanda-my precious, beloved, dearest friend.
The kind of friend who became part of my inner world, my stories, my seasons... that´s a rare, sacred connection.
I can´t believe you´ve moved from this world to the next so soon.
You were kind-hearted, intelligent, radiant, fun, extraordinary.
A woman who embodied freedom-who lived with depth and beauty in every breath.
You lived a beautiful life.
You taught me so much.
You were the one who introduced me to Winter Solstice celebrations-your sacred tradition for almost 40 years: family, friends, music, food, poetry, bonfires, smiles, hugs and magic.
Since we met, one of the highlights of my Decembers has been receiving your Winter Solstice invitation.
You made winter feel warm.
I am heartbroken.
I miss you so deeply.
When I close my eyes, I can still smell your scent, feel your hug.
I can hear your laugh-bright, wise, full of soul.
You illuminated our talks.
You enriched my life in ways I can never repay.
I am so grateful our paths crossed.
You changed me.
My heart aches, but it also celebrates you-your life, your essence.
A life of authenticity, courage, and beauty in every sense.
I will carry you with me.
And I will miss you, always.

When I think of Amanda, I picture her in motion - running, walking, or driving - and now I imagine her spirit floating in perfect, painless joy. Wherever she is, her memory will continue to inform and inspire her sons and all the friends who have loved her. I´ll treasure my memories of her intelligence, her wit, her wonderful cookery, and above all her deep love for Graham and Brent.

I would run into Amanda at various times and places, and was always happy to see her. She is gone too soon.
