Amanda Hansen Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 9, 2025.
Amanda Mizell Hansen 49, of Holladay, Utah, passed away on November 29, 2025.

Amanda lived life with conviction and unshakable optimism. She had strong opinions, clear advice, and a belief that positivity could change outcomes. She believed in defining what you want, trusting your instincts, and moving forward in faith in God. Even in the final hours of her life, she approached her situation with that same clarity, courage, and hope for the future, which fueled her fight and helped bring comfort and consolation to those around her.

People were seen by Amanda. She was thoughtful, considerate, and always looking for ways to make someone's life feel special. She had a rare ability to offer blunt but kind honesty with wit and humor. It was often exactly what you needed to hear. She could laugh at herself and never took things too seriously. She was generous with her time, her attention, and her heart. When someone needed her, she showed up.

Her greatest joy was her family. Her husband, Christian, and their children, Evie, Calder, and Harrison. Amanda was an intentional and devoted mom. She volunteered in their classrooms and always served as room mom. Her children'"s parties were legendary. Bounce houses, water slides, tents, cotton candy machines, music, even a small petting zoo. She did everything she could to make childhood magical. She was their cheerleader and their champion. She did not want to miss a moment and often said yes to everything because she wanted to be where her children were.

Amanda's passion was designing for life's important moments. She began her creative career as a photo stylist, developing the sharp, intuitive eye to capture the perfect shot. She was hired by Decoration Inc with no formal event design experience and then a few years later became its new owner. In our Pinterest and social media world, clients often asked her to replicate something they had seen. Amanda pushed for ideas that were original, thoughtful, and elevated. She believed in building and enhancing rather than copying. Clients trusted her because she saw details others missed, brought calm to chaos, and made the exceptional feel inevitable. She shaped the backdrops for weddings, celebrations, and everyday moments. She always found a way to make things meaningful and magical.

Amanda loved primary music, gathering people, traveling, cooking, and sharing a good meal. She created community wherever she went. At school. At church. At home. At work. She taught people to trust their instincts. To choose what felt true and let everything else fall away. She lived with clarity, confidence, and conviction.

She touched more lives than she ever realized.

Amanda is survived by her husband, Christian. Their children, Evie, Calder, and Harrison. Her parents, Corbitt and Carolyn Mizell. Her siblings, Melissa Devor, Corbitt Mizell, Aimee Lee, Donna Mizell, and Brien Mizell.

So very saddened to hear this news, Amanda took me to school years when I was in middle school at MDS and she was such a beautiful, funny kind person. My prayers are with her family.
