Amanda Mandy Oeffinger Gallman

Amanda "Mandy" Oeffinger Gallman, 59, of Orangeburg, SC, passed away May 26, 2022. She was the wife of Christian "Chris" Keith Gallman.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, May 29, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery in Orangeburg, SC with Rev. Steve Dees officiating.
Mandy was born in Orangeburg, SC, a daughter of Stephen and Alice H. Oeffinger, the eldest of five children. She was a lifelong resident of Orangeburg County. Mandy graduated from Wade Hampton Academy in 1981, briefly relocating to Florence, SC to attend Francis Marion University. She married her high school sweetheart, Christian Gallman (Chris), on March 13, 1983 at the First Baptist Church in downtown Orangeburg. She would go on to establish a family and business with him in the years that followed. It was a true partnership. For those that knew her best, the bedrock of Mandy's life was her loving marriage to her best friend and partner, Chris, and their three children Elizabeth (Beth), Kyle, and Ashley.
Mandy was the President and Chief Editor of Sandlapper Publishing, Inc. Her career focused heavily on showcasing South Carolina history, culture, and cuisine. Photography was another great passion of hers, a pursuit that decorates the walls of her home, office, and countless digital files. She believed that life's moments, even the tiniest ones, should be preserved. Not a single holiday, birthday, or event passed without a family photo or a snapshot of someone just being themselves. Mandy was affectionately referred to as "MeMe" by her five grandchildren. She was always thought of as a fun-loving grandparent that cared deeply for her family, including her pets, most notably her loyal Chihuahua named, Buddy. Her grandchildren would immediately light up whenever they heard that "MeMe" and "Papa" were coming over or walking inside, often rushing towards her for a hug. Mandy will be sorely missed by all her family and friends, but her place among them is cemented in the warm memories she helped to create.
Survivors include her husband of 39 years, Christian K. Gallman, daughters, Elizabeth Butler (Brett); Ashley Hawkins (Wade); son Kyle Gallman (Jordan); parents; sisters, Angela O. Kilgus (Kenneth); Victoria O. Barrineau (Devonne); Alice S. Oeffinger; parents; brother, Stephen B. Oeffinger, Jr.; mother-in-law Ann Reynolds (John), five grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
