Amanda Reed Obituary

Published by Legacy on Mar. 11, 2026.
Amanda Marie Reed, 40, of Ellicott City, Maryland, passed away on Saturday March 7, 2026.

Born on September 22, 1985, Amanda was the beloved daughter of James Reed and Sherry Billings. She spent her entire life in Ellicott City, where she devoted herself to raising her four wonderful daughters, Hailey, Kailynne, Taliyah, and Arely, who were the center of her life.

Amanda had a kind and generous spirit and was always looking for ways to help others. She would go out of her way to lend a helping hand to family, friends, or anyone who needed encouragement. Even in her passing, Amanda continued giving to others. As an organ donor, she gave the precious gift of life, helping others and bringing hope to families in need.

Family meant everything to Amanda. She cherished spending time with her daughters, crafting together, dyeing their hair, trick or treating, and making fun Snap Chats. She loved decorating the house with her children for every holiday, going on family vacations, and attending family reunions.

Amanda was an excellent cook, but baking was truly her specialty. She attended the Baltimore Culinary School, where she further developed her passion for baking and cake decorating. She had a special talent for creating beautifully decorated cakes that brought joy to family celebrations and gatherings.

She loved attending church and spending time with her church family. Amanda also enjoyed getting her hair and nails done, shooting pool, and trying her luck with scratch off lottery tickets. She was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and took pride in working in the health care field, where she was able to help and care for others.

Amanda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her warm smile, infectious laughter, and caring heart left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her kindness, generosity, and love for her family will never be forgotten.

Amanda was preceded in death by her grandparents, Carl and Barbara Boering; her grandfather, Bobby Reed; and her brother, Christopher Billings.

She is survived by her parents, James Reed and Sherry Billings; her daughters, Hailey, Kailynne, Taliyah, and Arely; her grandmother, Jean Reed; her sister, Kimberly Hosmer (Brian); her uncles, Robby Reed and Carl Boering Jr. (Susan); her nieces, Savannah and Sophia; her special aunt, Gina Gensler; her special cousin, Keith Michael; her husband, Leo Buckley; and many extended family members and dear friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2026, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville, where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 12 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family's GoFundMe established in Amanda's memory to support her daughters: https://gofund.me/68f84662e
