Amanda Sanchez Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cox Funeral Home - Walnut Ridge on Dec. 22, 2025.
Amanda Lynn Sanchez, 45, of Conway, passed from this life on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at Conway Regional Medical Center in Conway. She was born on April 14, 1980, to Dallas and Katrina Causey in Jonesboro. Amanda attended the New Life Church in Conway.

Amanda was one of the most loving and joyful people you could ever meet. She taught Spanish to countless students over the years, making her classes engaging, creative, and joyful. She brought energy and positivity to every conversation and made all feel welcome and valued. As Chair of the World Languages Department, she played a key role in creating the welcoming, vibrant environment that has been a "happy place" for students and staff in recent years.

Most recently, Amanda served students at Central High School, after previously supporting families and educators as an SOL Coordinator at Mabelvale. Throughout her career, she was widely known for her compassion, her dedication to education, and her unwavering commitment to ensuring every child felt seen, supported, and valued.

In 2019, Amanda earned her Gracie Jiu-Jitsu combatives belt, a reflection of her tenacity, spunk, and fearlessness. She will be remembered with deep gratitude, love, and respect, and her impact will live on through the countless lives she touched.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Donald and Twila Causey, and maternal grandparents, Howard and Mary Rogers; her uncles, Norman Oglesby and Keith Causey; and step-nephews, Jessie Brannin and Alexander Beard.

Amanda is survived by her son, Adrean Sanchez of Conway; father, Dallas Causey (Dianne) of Pottsville; mother, Katrina Sellers (Jeff) of Paragould; brother, James Causey (Mary Grace) of Jonesboro; step-siblings, Jamie Brannin, David Beard, and Trent Beard; nieces, Rose Causey and Scarlett Causey; partner, Freddy King; special friends, Morgan, Elijah, Daena, and Julianna (Chase); several step nieces and nephews; the many students she taught throughout the years; and a host of other family members and friends.

Visitation will be on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m. in Cox Funeral Home chapel in Walnut Ridge, with funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. Glenn Smith will officiate. Interment will follow in the Strangers Home Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Walnut Ridge.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Morgan Rowe, Elijah Beatty, Alex Chambers, Kayden Chambers, Tony Crafton, and Connor Crafton.

Although I never had her class, I would see her outside the hallway when I would walk to my French class or another class. Her death is a shock to me
