Amaryllis "Dolly" Rentz Tinsley, 78, passed away peacefully on November 22, 2025.

Born in Andalusia, Alabama, she spent her early years there before moving to Fort Walton Beach at age sixteen. She graduated from Choctawhatchee Senior High School, Class of 1965, and then earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of West Florida.

In 1972, Dolly married the love of her life, William "Herb" Tinsley. Together they built a warm and loving home and raised two sons, Kent and Kirk. Dolly was a devoted mother and grandmother, cherishing every moment spent with her grandsons, William and Brooks, sons of Kent and Mary Tinsley. She especially enjoyed supporting them in their band performances and baseball games.

Dolly had a lifelong passion for gardening and filled her home and yard with beautiful blooming plants-especially the amaryllis, her namesake and favorite flower. She also had a deep affection for animals and cared for many cherished cats and dogs throughout her life. Her dachshunds-Lackey, Skipper, and Batman-held an especially dear place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, William "Herb" Tinsley; her sons Kent (Mary) and Kirk; her grandsons William and Brooks; her brother, Frank (Salle) Rentz of Birmingham, AL; sister, Lisa (Mark) Greskovich of Pensacola, FL, and her extended family and the friends who were like family.
