Amber Oakes Obituary
Born February 2nd, 1995 in Crown Point, Indiana Amber was the daughter of Dennis Oakes and Jennifer Mutka.
After having a stroke when she was 2 years old, Amber was left nonverbal and non-mobile. Despite the challenges she faced in this life she was always happy. She loved Wheel of Fortune, listening to music, and watching dancing lights, which brought her so much joy, laughter, clapping, and giggling. Amber will be greatly missed, by all who have taken care of her all of her life, especially by her loving father and lifelong caregiver.
Amber is survived by her parents Dennis (Jennifer) Oakes and Jennifer (Keith) Mutka, Michelle Stachulak, loving siblings Ryan and Madison Oakes, Sydney (Tyler) Schmid, Savanah (Mark) Meland, Nate and Noah Fortener, Taylor and Katie Mutka, her niece Dalilah and nephew Grayson, her grandmother Kathy (Mike) Plys, grandfather David (Corrine) Bergman and Barbara Banks, Grandma the great and great grandmother Jane Irwin Stachulak. She was also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Virgil and Patty Oakes and John and Mary Stachulak.
Funeral Services will be on Friday December 19th at 11:00 AM at Bartholomew Funeral Home. Pastor William Foy will officiate. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Valparaiso. Visitation will be on Thursday 4-7 PM and Friday 10 AM until the time of services.
