Ms. Ameria Dava’ Grant was born October 3, 2007, to Idona Mace Johnson and Clayton Jarrett Grant. She passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023.
She attended Florence School District 1 Public Schools: Delmae Elementary, Moore Middle, Sneed Middle, and West Florence High.
Most recently, Ameria was a member of West Florence High School Junior Varsity Girls’ Basketball Team.
In Ameria’s younger years, she participated in cheerleading, softball and basketball with the City of Florence Recreation Department. As an athlete, Ameria affectionately known as “The Baller” displayed her skills gracefully, was full of life and loved to laugh. She was tough and loving at the same time. She loved to make others laugh and smile. Ameria loved to dance and create Tik Tok videos. She was good at it too. Music was a source of enjoyment for her. She didn’t go a day without listening to music and sharing it with others. Ameria was always telling her mom, Mom listen to this. Let me put you on! “We can’t talk about “Meria” without talking about her love and loyalty to her friends. They called her, “The life of the party.” Ameria was the bright star and a light when her friends needed her the most.
Ameria is love and was loved by her dear family and friends. She will be greatly missed, yet never forgotten. She will forever remain in our hearts.
Ameria’s memories are left to be forever cherished by her parents, Idona (Byron) Johnson and Clayton Jarrett Grant; a special stepdad, Lenin “Andy B.” Richardson; two brothers, Xy’mir Brown and Christian Johnson; two sisters, NyKeira Johnson and Akeelah Johnson; her maternal grandparents, Joan (Nicholas) Myers and Zachariah (Clarice) Mace; her paternal grandparents, Clayton (Dr. Ruth) Grant and Lettie Mae Johnson; her great grandmother, Dorothy J.
