Mrs. Amerine Key-Hall was born to the late Carey and Annie Selma Scott on December 2, 1937, in Hatchechubbee, Alabama. She transitioned from this earthly life to an eternal heavenly life on November 15, 2024.
At twelve years old, Mrs. Amerine Key-Hall accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior and became a St. Luke AME Church member. While attending St. Luke, she served on the Usher Board and was secretary of the Sunday School.
In 1956, she united in marriage to the late Melvin Key Sr. They both relocated to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where they were blessed with three wonderful children. She joined Central Baptist Church of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as an active member. She served as president of the Neil Isenhour Usher Board, president of the Central Baptist Church Federal Credit Union, Treasurer of the December Birthday Group, and Camera operator of the television and kitchen ministries. She enjoyed being a part of the daily feeding ministry for the needy under the leadership of Mother Catherine Graham and Pastor Dr. Issac Green.
She worked faithfully and diligently for the Lord, her church, and her community until her health declined, and she moved to Columbus, Ohio, in 2007. At that time, she united with the Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church and served on the Missionary Society under Bishop Donald J. Washington's pastorate until her health declined.
She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter Patricia Ann Key and sons Melvin (Blema) Key Jr. and Keith (Donica) Key. Grandchildren: Anthony, Shardai (Derrick), Allen, Ryan, Cameron, Danielle, Darienne, and Keith Brandon. Great Grandchildren: Donte, Desmond, Alayah, Ayanna, and Jasmine. Two sisters, Rovena Foster of Austin, Texas, and Betty Scott of Hatchechubbee, Alabama; one brother, Robert (Rosie) Scott of Phenix City, Alabama; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation 9:00 AM and Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Chapel of Peace - North, 2500 Cleveland Ave. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
