Aminta Burton-Scott, a devoted first-grade teacher from Ocala, Florida, and a proud daughter of Jamaica, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025. She was a remarkable educator whose love for her students was as boundless as her passion for teaching.
Aminta dedicated her life to shaping young minds with patience, kindness, and joy. Her classroom was a place of laughter, learning, and love - where every child felt seen, valued, and inspired. Her extraordinary commitment to education left an indelible mark on the countless students whose lives she touched.
Beyond her career, Aminta was a woman of great warmth and generosity. She shared her beautiful spirit with everyone she met and will be remembered for her radiant smile, gentle heart, and unwavering faith.
She leaves behind her devoted husband, 2 beloved mothers, 1 sister, 3 brothers, 4 stepchildren, 9 grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends who will continue to honor her legacy with love and pride.
Though she is no longer with us, Aminta's memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and students. Her life was a true testament to love, service, and the joy of giving oneself to others.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 at Roberts of Ocala, Downtown Chapel, 606 SW 2nd Avenue, Ocala, FL with a repast to follow.
Forever in our hearts, her light will continue to shine.
