Amy Jo Colvert, age 41 of Eau Claire, passed away on Sunday, January 7 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire with her family by her side. Amy was born on August 6, 1982, in Eau Claire to Gary and Dawn (nee Sessions) Schlewitz.
She graduated from Altoona High School in 2001 and earned her Associate's Degree from CVTC in 2016.
Amy had worked for Harris Rebar and Xcel Energy. She married Dave Colvert on June 20, 2015.
Amy was very involved in foreign exchange students as a student counselor and host parent. She had a love for the Girl Scouts and looked forward to every August when she would go to Camp Nawakwa.
She also enjoyed fishing, her dogs, the Badgers and playing Trivia with her husband and cousin Leah on Thursday nights, going to her grandparent's cabin at the lake, and spending many birthdays at the Nitty Gritty Bar & Grill in Madison.
Amy is survived by her husband Dave; fur babies Jake, Emma and Solara; parents Gary and Dawn Schlewitz; brothers Joel Schlewitz and Steven (Kassie) Schlewitz; father and mother-in-law Bob (Carolyn) Colvert; grandma Dolly Sessions; aunts Yvonne (Jerry) Foss and LeAnn Sessions (Orly Berg); uncles Alan (Kim) Schlewitz, Dan Sessions and Ed (Kathy) Sessions; and lots of cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents Paul and Ethel Schlewitz and James Sessions, uncle Bob Sessions and cousin Nick Schlewitz.
Amy had a very infectious smile and a very big heart. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her.
A celebration of life will be held at Stokes, Prock & Mundt Funeral Chapel, 535 S. Hillcrest Parkway, Altoona on Wednesday, January 17 from 4 p.m. - 7 p.m. with a time of sharing throughout the evening.
Amy's family would like to thank the amazing nurses and staff at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire for their compassion, care and amazing turn out for her honor walk. Amy's memory will live on through many others through her gift of organ and tissue donations.
The family request that memorial gifts be made to the Our Nawakwa Connecting Youth to Nature Pass-through Fund through the Community Foundation of Chippewa County, PO Box 153, Chippewa Falls, WI 54729.
