I met Amy in the early `90s when we both worked for what was then called United Charities. We became fast friends hanging out after work and on the weekends. I remember rollerblading together from our Streeterville apartments to Navy Pier. She was much better at it than I was and managed to always be there to catch me as I stumbled. And that´s who Amy was. She always had your back. She stayed positive and encouraging no matter what difficult ball life threw at you. And while we moved out of the city, changed employers, and moved on with our lives, Amy never missed a beat. No matter how long it had been since we last spoke, we picked up right where we left off. Amy had that way about her. She always made you feel important, supported and loved. She was a beautiful sole that will be truly missed but never forgotten.
