Amy Oneita Guess, age 48, of Calhoun, GA, passed away on December 2, 2024. Born on November 26, 1976, she was the beloved daughter of Bobby Guess and the late Mary Ruth Pankey Guess, and the cherished sister of Kelly Guess and the late Michael Scott Guess.
Amy dedicated 26 years of her life to working in Commercial Sales at Shaw Industries, where she was a valued and respected member of the team. A proud graduate of Gordon Central High School’s Class of 1995, Amy was known for her caring spirit and unwavering commitment to her lifelong friends.
Amy was happiest when giving to others, always putting the needs of her loved ones above her own. She was the glue that held her family together, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her adventurous soul found peace in the great outdoors, where she enjoyed hiking and spending time with her loyal dog, Wally. Traveling was one of Amy's greatest joys, and she treasured every opportunity to explore new places.
Amy was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ruth, and her brother, Michael Scott. Her family has found solace in knowing she is reunited with her mother and brother.
In addition to her fiancé Jason, Amy is survived by her father. Bobby Guess; her brother Kelly, stepchildren Lilly Castoe, Grey Castoe, and Mae Pearl Castoe, as well as her nieces and nephews: Brandie Guess, Cody Guess, Gavin Pack, Zach Guess, and Kaitlin Guess. She is also survived by her great-nieces and great-nephews: Braylon Guess, Allie Guess, Estelle Stanley, Winnie Pack, Jude Pack, and Samuel Guess.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Thomas Funeral Home, with Rev. Stacy Hensley officiating. Faye Bentley will provide the musical tribute. Pallbearers will include Cody Guess, Gavin Pack, Zach Guess, Grey Castoe, Chad Castoe, and Wyatt Castoe.
Amy will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love, generosity, and kindness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to call her family and friend.
In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Amy may be made to the Humane Society of Gordon County at 790 Harris Beamer Road SW, Calhoun, GA 30701.
