Amy Beth Parrish Haynes passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2023, at her home in
Greensboro, North Carolina. She was 66 years old.
Amy was born July 16, 1956, to the late Beth and Jack Parrish and spent her childhood in
Roanoke, Virginia. In 1978, she graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the Robins School of Business at the University of Richmond in
Richmond, Virginia. While a student there, Amy was a member of the University's synchronized swimming team and competed in inter-collegiate competitions and school performances.
Following graduation, Amy married Ronald Keith Haynes and they soon moved to Greensboro where they raised their three daughters. Amy will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, supporting the varied interests of her girls, and coordinating numerous school and sports activities. She rarely missed a soccer game, gymnastics competition or school event.
During these years, Amy also built a successful business career in the insurance industry and enjoyed meeting and serving clients throughout North Carolina.
Amy made many friends through her volunteer and professional work. She served as a deacon for her church and held a variety of leadership positions in community organizations. Amy was known for her impeccable style and loved fashion and decorating. She loved the beach; loved watching sporting events, especially the Carolina Panthers, and loved spending time with her family. She cherished time spent with her grandchildren, who affectionately called her 'Mamie'.
Amy is survived by her brother, Richard Parrish of
Longmont, Colorado; her three daughters, Holly Haynes and her husband, Sean Driscoll of
Asheville, NC; Kelly Ripley and her husband, Kenny Ripley of Greensboro, and Betsy Haynes and her husband, John Dallmer also of
Asheville, NC; and their father, Ronald K. Haynes; and her three grandchildren, Addie and Benjamin Roy, and Taj Ripley of Greensboro.
The family will receive friends at the home of Amy's daughter, Kelly Ripley, in Greensboro on Monday, April 3, 2023, between 2:00-5:00 pm.
