Dear Johnny,
I am so very sorry that I will not be able to see you this afternoon or tomorrow. I will be at church this afternoon and all day tomorrow.
I feel sure that your mom will be welcomed at Nana Poochie's card table.
God bless you, Bettijo and your entire family - My prayers are with you as you work through this difficult time.

Richard: I was so sorry to see your Mother's death notice in today's Richmond Times-Dispatch. Because of this cold weather, I'm not venturing out for the family visitation or the funeral service. I would love to see you again. Your former Hilliard Road neighborhood has changed quite a bit since you left, but I'm still the "anchor" on the block for all of the neighbors. I remember speaking with your Mother on several occasions and seeing her at the Brook Road Arby's after church services with her friends for lunch. I didn't think she looked real well on one of her last Arby's get-togethers. Please know that I am thinking about you and your siblings. If you and Clara get the chance, please stop by to see me. I am usually at home when not at work, and I would welcome a visit from you guys. Please know that I am thinking about you. I DO NOT see Carolyn much at all now. Take care. Love to you and the family. Betsy

To Amy's Family: It was a pleasure to know Amy at the Telephone Company and while we never really worked in the same office, I thought a lot of her as did everyone else. I am sorry for your loss. I know you will miss her.
