Amy Sue Polach-Oppenlander, 46, of Ottawa, passed away on February 21,2025, at Loyola University Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
Private services will be held at Gladfelter-Roetker Funeral Home on Sunday, March 2, from 4-6 p.m. and a Celebration of Life will we be held at a later date.
Amy was born on September 8, 1978 in Ottawa, the daughter of Donald and Roxanne (Newman) Polach. Amy and Rob Oppenlander together made their family of Haley, Riley, Brody and Aubrey. She was a stay at home mom who enjoyed helping to raise her young family. She was always keeping the house going, whether it be doing different home projects like decorating, and baking. She also enjoyed her flowers and crafting. For a while she assisted with her family business and was also a waitress. Amy enjoyed boating, trips to Lake Havasu, and Florida. She loved her dogs Little Susan, Nova and Cali. More than anything, Amy loved spending time with her kids.
Amy is survived by her children, Haley (Corey) Marmion, Riley, Brody, and Aubrey Oppenlander; her mother, Roxanne Polach (Larry Simmons); sister, Tiffany (Matt) Engel; grandchildren, Lilly Oppenlander and Aire Marmion; Aunt Tammy Bienemann (Uncle Craig Smith); uncles, Kevin and Robert Newman; niece and nephew, Sophia and Logan Foster; and cousins, Jeff Casey, Sean (Nicole) Casey, Lindsey Bienemann, and Cody Newman. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Polach; maternal grandparents, Robert and Beverly Newman; and paternal grandparents, Rudy and Norma Polach.
