Amy Sipuleski Obituary

Baltic - Amy Ellen Crane Sipuleski, 63, of Baltic, passed away peacefully May 7, 2025, at William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich, after a brief battle with cancer. She was the daughter of Donald and Marie Crane who predeceased her.

Amy was a 1980 graduate of Norwich Free Academy. She later attended Thames Valley Community College, as well as Eastern Connecticut State University. Amy was one of the first female members of Norwich Fish and Game Club, and later served as the club's only female president. She held a variety of other positions at the club including being on the board of directors. She was a member of the Sprague Rod and gun club. She served as treasurer for the Guns of Norwich Historical Society. Amy was an avid kayaker, hunter and angler with a great love for the outdoors. For many years, she camped with her family and friends.

Amy was employed as an IT/analyst and systems analyst at SPIROL International. She was previously employed as senior DBA/analyst at S & S Worldwide in Colchester. Amy was a much beloved individual by her family and all who knew her. Her homemade pizzas and the cheese for the Cheyune were loved by all. She left many fond memories of her energetic and loving personality that will be cherished for years to come.

She is survived by her loving husband Paul Sipuleski of Baltic; and her beloved rescue dog Brandy; her Uncle John Tedeschi of Norwich; siblings, June (Angelo) Morrone of Norwich, Cindy (Steve) Castellano of Lake George, John (Annabelle) Crane of Griswold, and Alan (Jennifer) Crane of Northford; sisters-in-law, Carole (David) Durr and Marilyn (Joe) Majewski. She will also be missed by her ten nieces and nephews; her 13 grandnieces and nephews will miss playing, "What time is it Mrs. Fox?" with her.

Paul would like to thank all who came to visit Amy in her final days. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to the Norwich Fish and Game or Sprague Rod and Gun Club in her memory.

A Calling Hour will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, at the Cummings-Gagne Funeral Home, 82 Cliff Street, Norwich, with a service to follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Amy was small in stature but brought a big appearance when she arrived. I admired her control of ALL at Norwich Fish & Fame Club. She was a special person and will be missed. RIP my friend.

I was the Treasurer of the Norwich Fish and Game Association, to which Amy was a life-time member. She sat on the board of directors during my tenure as Treasurer. Sometimes the role of the Treasurer seemed to be to put the board to sleep with stultifying financial reports. But I dared not make a mistake because Amy would pick it up every time. She kept me on my toes and made sure I didn't show up at a meeting without all the numbers in order.

We had great fun with Summer League pistols of which she was the organizer. I had a Glock that I converted from a 10mm to a 9mm, a simple barrel swap but using the same magazine. I discovered I could put 12, 9mm rounds into a 10 round 10mm magazine. Amy was not amused by that bit of un-sportsmanship behavior and watched me like a hawk whenever I was on the line and it became a lasting joke even after I went to a 22.

During the last few years I had the opportunity to pheasant hunt with her. I will always remember that little woman, toting a big gun and who never left the field without her limit.

Thank you, Amy, for sharing your life with us.
