Ana Isabel Saliva-Agostini

Ana Isabel Saliva-Agostini, lovingly known as Anita, born on May 1, 1945, left this world on July 8, 2026. Her departure is deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Anita’s journey through life was marked by kindness, strength, and an unwavering dedication to her family.

Anita’s life began with promise and warmth, nurtured from her earliest days by her beloved parents Alfredo Saliva and Ana Agostini-Vazquez, whose teachings and love shaped the person she would become. Though her parents have passed, their legacy lived on vividly in Ana’s grace and steadfast values.

Throughout her years, Anita built a family that was her heart’s center. She shared a loving marriage with her late husband, Jesus Fernandez, whose memory she cherished each day after his passing. Together, Anita and Jesus raised a family whose devotion to their mother is a testament to the nurturing love Anita gave so freely.

Anita leaves behind her three children, each holding her in their hearts with gratitude and affection: Cyndi M. Mesenbrink, Clara C. Smith, and Christian A. Fernandez. They remember her for her gentle wisdom, her encouragement, and the steady support she provided at every turn. Her role as a mother was one she wore with both humility and pride.

Anita’s devotion extended lovingly to her grandchildren: Cyndi, Brianna, Rachel, Sebastian, and Austin. Each grandchild carries with them memories of Anita’s laughter, her quiet strength, and the comfort found in her embrace. Their lives are forever brighter because of her presence.

Anita’s family was wide and close-knit, and she was further blessed by the companionship of her sister, Ligia DelPrado and her husband Jose, and her nephew, Alfredo, both of whom will feel her absence deeply. Anita’s bond with her siblings was cherished, and she held close within her heart the memories of her late brothers Freddy and Otto, and her late sister Nereida.

Anita’s life was not defined by grand gestures, but by countless acts of everyday love—sharing meals around a table, offering thoughtful advice, and celebrating small victories with those she cherished most. Her warmth radiated in family gatherings, her laughter echoing through generations, her quiet faith providing a foundation that never wavered.

Those who knew Anita speak of her resilience and her remarkable ability to offer comfort and compassion. She could light up a room with her smile, and her door was always open to anyone in need. In the simple routines and traditions she maintained, Anita created a safe haven for her family—a legacy of love and acceptance that endures.

Anita Isabel Saliva-Agostini’s passing marks the end of a beautiful chapter but her spirit remains, woven into the memories and lives of her children, grandchildren, and all her loved ones. Her kindness, steadfastness, and love are gifts she leaves behind, gently shaping the future of those she so dearly loved.

As her family and friends mourn her loss, they also celebrate the extraordinary woman Anita was—grateful for every moment, every lesson, every embrace. May her memory continue to inspire generosity, courage, and love.

Llena de gracia y de una bondad infinita, Ana «Anita» Isabel fue una mujer y madre extraordinaria a quien le encantaba cantar, bailar, cocinar y escribir poesía. Era una madre sumamente bondadosa y cariñosa que siempre anteponía las necesidades de sus hijos, familiares y amigos a las suyas propias, y cuya compasión inagotable la llevaba a menudo a cuidar de animales abandonados. Su generosidad no conocía límites. Poseía un don genuino para amar y brindar apoyo, y siempre iluminaba el ambiente con una sonrisa vivaz y sus característicos labios de un rojo intenso; ¡era imposible no sonreír cuando ella estaba cerca! Su voz era dulce y melodiosa, como la de un ángel. En lo más profundo de su corazón residían su fe y un amor eterno hacia nuestro Señor y Salvador, Jesucristo.

Nacida en Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, Anita fue la primogénita de Alfredo Saliva Sacarello y Ana Agostini Vázquez. En 1970 contrajo matrimonio con Jesús («Jay») Fernández (fallecido en 2023) y tuvieron tres hijos: Cynthia (Ohio) y los gemelos Clara (Texas) y Christian (Puerto Rico). Deja cinco nietos: Cyndi, Brianna, Rachel, Sebastián y Austin, todos ellos residentes en Texas.

A Anita le sobrevive su hermana, Ligia Concepción "Conchita" DelPrado Saliva (esposa de José "Cuqui", de Puerto Rico). También fue hermana de Freddy Salivia (fallecido en 2021), de Miami, Florida; Otto Saliva (fallecido en 2004), de Vega Baja, Puerto Rico; y Nereida Saliva Lowery (fallecida en 2008), de Florida.

El legado de amor y compasión de Anita perdurará para siempre. La familia está llena de pesar, pero encuentra consuelo al saber que Anita los observa desde lo alto y descansa en paz.

La familia celebrará una Santa Misa en su ciudad natal de Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. Los detalles se comunicarán más adelante. Anita partió en paz hacia el Reino del Señor el 8 de julio, acompañada por su hija mayor, Cynthia, en The Trinity Community en Beavercreek, Ohio. Siempre y por toda la eternidad te diremos: «Te queremos más que al cheesecake», Mami.
