Ander (Enoch) Cowart, 88 of Collins, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2025, at Community Hospice in Vidalia surrounded by his family. Enoch was a lifelong resident of Tattnall County and a graduate of the Class of 1957 from Reidsville High School.
Construction Worker by Trade, Enoch had over 50 combined years of working with Watson Yeargan Construction and Terry Meeks Construction. He took great pride in what he had built over the years and it was evident when he would tell stories and point out the different buildings he had built while on road trips. After retiring, he would still build things whether it was a horse drawn wagon, swings or simple wooden puzzle games. He enjoyed working on his farm along with his horses, cattle, goats and many other livestock.
Enoch enjoyed taking camping trips and vacations whether it was to the various State Parks in Georgia with Polly, Ashley and Ashton or the North Georgia Mountains with Don and Nancy and their family or the Smoky Mountains with Eric and Tracy and their family.
He was a member of The Country Boy Plow Club for many years hosting Plow Days for the public to come and watch and gain knowledge of plowing by mule, sugar cane grinding and syrup making as well as other agriculture demonstrations.
Being of Baptist Faith, Enoch was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church of Reidsville where he was an Ordained Deacon and Elder.
Enoch is proceeded in death by his parents, Ernest and Jennie Cowart, his siblings, Ernestine Oliver, Herbert Cowart, Eva Lee Alston, Harris Cowart, Ted Cowart, Louise Thurmond, EB Cowart and his son, Mark Cowart.
Left to cherish his memory is the love of his life of 57 years Donna M. (Polly) Cowart, sons Don (Nancy) Cowart of Cobbtown, Eric (Tracy) Cowart of Collins, Granddaughters Ashton Cowart of Rincon and Ashley (Andrew) Pittman of Glennville, Great Grand Children Braelynn Pittman, Emerson Pittman and McKenna Pittman of Glennville and a host of other family members.
Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 4, 2026 with Services to follow at 2:00 at Pine Grove Baptist Church of Reidsville with internment in the Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Pittman, Walt Rogers, Ernie Cowart, Greg Oliver, Neil Oliver and Mark Durrence.
In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Pine Grove Baptist Church Building Fund at Post Office Box 735, Reidsville, Georgia 30453.
