Andrea Jane Jorgensen Luehrs passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, just 11 days after her 60th birthday. She was born on December 8, 1965, in Idaho Falls, Idaho to Flora Holverson Jorgensen and Johnny Kay Jorgensen. She was their second daughter and a much-wanted welcome addition to the family after her oldest sister had passed away at just 9 days old.
Andrea grew up in the Idaho Falls and Iona areas. She spent a lot of time with family and cousins. She learned to play the fiddle and organ and could also play the piano. She could sing and had a beautiful voice. Andrea loved acting and participated in drama and a few plays. She married Jason Doyle Cornell in 1984, whom she later divorced. From that marriage arrived her five children who were her pride and joy and reason for living, Jefery, Alanna, Kalee, Nathaniel and Zakaree. She loved her children and loved being a mom. She would sew most anything and even prided herself on sewing the underwear for her kids. Andrea knew how to cook well and still has the best chicken enchilada recipe ever.
Andrea was a warrior! She survived two horrible marriages of physical and mental abuse. She buried that pain in drugs, which led to mental issues and more years of pain, as we wondered where she was and if she was ok was heart breaking for all. She came out the other side still standing, broken and bruised, but still there, she survived. She spent the last years of her life in a good place where she was happy, safe and clean, reconnecting with her siblings, children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her laughter which filled a room, her mischievousness, her fun and silly ways, but mostly for her love of being a mother, grandmother and sister. Andrea wasn't her mental illness, she was our sister, mother, grandmother and friend.
Andrea believed in Jesus and talked about him and loved him, she was spiritual. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Andrea is survived by her children Jefery (Julie) Cornell of Fayetteville, North Carolina, Alanna Cornell of Lubbock, Texas, Kaelee (Dani James) Cornell of Sacramento, California, Nathaniel (Antonia Nunnemaker) Cornell of Sacramento, California, and Zakaree (Shannon) Cornell of Sacramento, California; her beautiful grandbabies, Andrew, Alessandra, John, Skylar, Emerson and Roark; her siblings Marvin (Cindy) Jorgensen of Fairbanks, Alaska, Brian (Kathy) Jorgensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Karen (Walter) Boyd of Idaho Falls, Idaho, Susan Jorgensen of Salt Lake City, Utah, Jason (Nicole) Jorgensen of Hermiston, Oregon and Felicia Jorgensen Wallace of Fairbanks, Alaska, 18 nieces and nephews and 22 great nieces and nephews.
Andrea was preceded in death by her parents, Johnny Kay and Flora Jorgensen, her sister Constance Jorgensen, and her nephew Brandon Jorgensen.
The family will be holding a celebration of life in June of 2026. We would also like to thank The Gables of Ammon for their fabulous love and care of our dear sister and mother. Cremation is under the direction of Coltrin Mortuary. Condolences are welcome at www.coltrinmortuary.com.
