Andrea Michelle Ridley-Smith, affectionately known as Andy, passed away on November 9, 2025, in Richmond, Virginia. Born on May 25, 1966, in Richmond, she was a proud lifelong resident of the city where she cultivated her passions, career, and cherished relationships.
Andy was a dedicated professional who served as the Vice President of East Coast Closing at Prosperity Home Mortgage. Her commitment to her work was paralleled by her vibrant personality—outgoing, full of life, energetic, compassionate, and spirited. She found joy in both her professional and personal endeavors, always striving for excellence.
She graduated from Jefferson-Huguenot-Wythe High School and attended J. Sergeant Reynolds Community College, where she pursued her interests with zeal and dedication. In her personal life, Andy loved traveling to different countries, indulging in cooking shows, reading, and decorating her home, all of which reflected her creative spirit and love for life.
Andy was especially proud of her family, including her beloved son, Devin Lynch, and her two cherished grandchildren, Casen and Dream. She deeply loved her sisters, Dalphine Underwood (Paris) and Chonta Edwards (Michael), along with her brother, Cargill Ridley (Shonda). Andy also had a special bond with her uncle, William Lewis (Gean), and was surrounded by several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends who will miss her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Goldie A. Ridley, who she held close to her heart.
A funeral service to celebrate Andy's life will take place on November 20, 2025, at the Joseph Jenkins Jr Funeral Home in Richmond, Virginia, beginning at 12:00 PM.
Andrea Michelle Ridley-Smith’s legacy will be remembered through the lives she touched with her compassion, energy, and unwavering dedication to her family and career. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
