Andrea Paroskie Schneider, 51, of Wellesley, Massachusetts, passed away on March 10, 2026. While pancreatic cancer certainly did not define Andrea, it was ultimately what took her from us. Born on March 2, 1975, in Boston, Massachusetts, Andrea was a doer who lived a short, but full life defined by action, purpose, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved.

Andrea grew up in Arlington and Lexington Massachusetts before attending Hobart and William Smith College in Geneva, NY where she majored in Art History. This foundation ultimately prepared her well for the time that she spent in both advertising and the not-for-profit world.

When Andrea decided that she was once again ready to work outside the home, the natural choice for her was to work at Dignity Matters, a Massachusetts-based nonprofit dedicated to addressing period poverty by providing free menstrual products, bras, and underwear to women, girls, and transgender men who are homeless or disadvantaged. It was exactly the kind of work that matched who Andrea was at her core.

But if you asked anyone who knew her, they would tell you that above all else, Andrea was a mom. That was the role she cherished most, and the one she poured her whole heart into.

From her early days as a mom, Andrea's priority for herself and for her kids was to cultivate a diverse group of friends, allowing her to expose her kids to a countless number and type of experiences. Andrea was a new mom both in the San Francisco Bay area and in Boston which allowed her to further broaden all that she was able to explore with her family. Hiking, camping, visits to national parks, dinner clubs, book clubs, and weekend trips were all meticulously planned and purposeful.

Andrea was kind, hardworking, thoughtful, and extraordinarily organized. When she wasn't pouring herself into her family or career, Andrea could be found in Vermont on the ski slopes, travelling to far away places, trying out new recipes, reading a good book, or lacing up her running shoes. She brought the same energy and enthusiasm to her passions that she brought to everything else in her life.

Andrea is survived by her husband, Randy Schneider; her son, Cody Schneider; her daughter, Phoebe Schneider; her mother, Janet Damiata; her father, Robert Paroskie; her sister, Allison Wheeler; and her brother, Robert Paroskie. She leaves behind a family and a community that are better for having known her.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m. at Temple Beth Elohim, 10 Bethel Road, Wellesley, MA 02481. Interment will follow at Beit Olam East, with the entrance located at 42 Concord Road, Wayland, MA 01778.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Andrea to Dignity Matters.

Following the service, family and friends are welcome to gather at the Schneider home.

My name is Michael Burkhardt. I am law partners with Brian Herman, which is how I met Andrea. I know the horror of pancreatic cancer having been diagnosed more than a year ago and I connected with Andrea to share my story and in the hope of helping her based on my experience. I only wish I could have been more helpful. My thoughts, prayers and condolences are with your family.

I created the Burkhardt Family Fund last year at the LaBahn Pancreatic Cancer Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin where I had surgery and I am donating $1,000 in Andrea's name to continue to help fund critical individualized research and treatment for pancreatic cancer victims.

My heart goes out to you and your entire family.

Sending strength and love to Janet, Mario, Allison, Rob, and Randy. Janet has shared Andrea's amazing life adventures for 51 years, and shown all of us what an exceptional, talented and wise Daughter, Mother, Wife and Friend she was to her family and so many others.

Dear Randy & family, Pat and I were so terribly sorry to learn of Andrea´s passing. I first met Andrea in a mom & baby playgroup in The WMF and so began a friendship with a wonderful group as our babies grew. The Friday night crappy dinners were definitely a favourite as who doesn´t love pizza and wine without the fuss of cooking ! Andrea loved to host and we had many a fun book club night with cheese and wine and now and then a book was read !
Sending you all strength and love for the journey ahead. Precious memories in your hearts forever.
Love Lorna Pat Emily & Adam

I miss Andrea so much already - I can't believe she's no longer with us. She was a special friend and life is not going to be the same without her. I loved going for our regular walks down to MOPO and wearing recently our matching sneakers and strapping Otis into his little harness. Andrea was such a good conversationalist always remembering the things I told her on previous encounters, such a good memory and so caring. I also enjoyed running, skiing and mountain biking with her too - she was a big fan of the outdoors and getting some fresh air and exercise. Her mile time was SOOO fast. Even when she did a short run with cancer, her mile time was still faster than mine. I loved how she listened to books while running - so smart and civilized, haha. While I loved exercising with her, more than anything I'm going to miss her solid friendship - she was a true friend to me. Never judging. She was supportive to me, and had values/morals things that she believed in and principles she lived by. I loved her giggle, again even at a chemotherapy session in January, she would still giggle at the dumb things I said. She was so good at always organizing playdates for Phoebe with Sebastian, she was such a good mother. She always complimented Sebastian too and said that he was a good parent to everyone, which is so funny. Andrea (and Randy) were always so nice to cook things that he liked too and take him to his favorite pizza place when in Vermont. Thank you sweet Andrea. You also put together the most amazing bat mitzvah for Phoebe, it was so caring and perfect for what she wanted. It's really hard to write this as I can't believe she's not here anymore, I was texting with her just one week ago and now she's not here. I'm really really sad dear friend. I will remember her always and she will be in my heart forever. Rest in Peace.

I just learned of Andrea´s passing and it´s hard to take in. She was always so good about keeping in touch; I was not so good, and I feel terrible that I had no idea about the health struggles she was facing. My memories of Andrea are of her radiant love for Cody, Phoebe and Randy, her adventurous spirit, and her appreciation for life and every small moment. One memory in particular has stuck with me. We were walking around Morse´s Pond with our kids when Cody stepped in deep mud that covered his sneakers. I reflexively stressed, but Andrea wasn´t bothered at all. Sneakers were meant to get dirty, she said-he was having fun in nature, and that was what mattered. That perspective helped me be a better parent on many occasions when my kids were little, and I still think about it whenever I catch myself worrying about the wrong things. I remind myself to be a little more like Andrea with the sneakers.
